LEED – green building certification
LEED (The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a voluntary certification program which has been developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) that can be applied to commercial as well as residential green buildings. It represent a benchmark for the design, construction and operation of energy efficient buildings.
What LEED Measures?
A LEED project certification is based on a 110 point scale, where 100 points are awarded by recognizing key environmental impacts and 10 points is a bonus for regionally specific approach to sustainability.
